Throwback Car Of The Week: 1976 Cadillac Deville

The last true big Cadillac. I loved these models. When they downsized in '77, I really didn't start liking Cadillacs again until the 2000s when their Art & Science designs began to come out. Cadillac needs a rear wheel drive large sedan to compete with the S-Classes and 7-Series of the world.

2011 Toyota 4runner

I love Toyota trucks and SUV's. In fact I'm in the market for a 4th Gen (2003-2009) 4runner right now. However, the 5th Gen 4runners dont look that great to me. Its like something from the Transformers movie merged with a 3rd Gen (1996-2002) model. One thing that pisses me off about the 4runners is that its becoming more "Lexified" it has all the qualities of a Lexus without being one. The price of a limited 4runner is almost as much as its rich brother, the Lexus GX. The best looking 4runners were the 3rd and 4th gens by far. This one just doesnt look right to me.

2011 Mazda 2

Its a  Ford Fiesta in Mazda clothing but, I think this one looks better than its Ford brother. Small cars used to be so cheap looking when it came to the interior and weak ass engine. Now automakers are stepping up their game knowing that not just poor people want a fuel efficient car.

2013 Ford Escape

Its about time Ford gives the Escape a needed complete redesign. I thought they were going Ranger on it since the same basic design has been around since 2001 with a refresh in 2008. The 2013 Escape is based on the Ford Kuga which is sold in Europe.I like it. I've liked Fords approach from the late 2000s till now. Especially now that their quality is now on par with Toyota. I think thew new Escape will do well like the 1st generation.

2012 Acura TL

Unlike most people, I really like Acura's designs from the past 7 years. Ever since I saw the 2004 TSX and TL, I felt that they were one of the best auto designs of the 2000s. The current models are no exception. The only thing I don't like about this TL is that it reminds me too much of the Lexus GS for some reason. Especially in the rear. Too bad these things don't sale like they should though. Their designs may be a little to extreme for some.

2013 Chevrolet Malibu

I'm a little pissed at GM. That they took this long to start making good looking quality cars to compete with the Hondas and Toyotas of the world. Well, they finally did it. The "new" Malibu looks to be just a refresh of the 08-12 model but they improved on it a lot. I love the new Camaro styled rear end. One of the best I've seen on a family sedan. The interior is so so. Just looks like it was carried over from the 08-12 versions. Overall, I wouldn't mind to drive one of these. They look very very good.

2012 Toyota Camry SE

You know looks like a refresh to me. But I like it. Reminds me of an approved 07-11 Camry. Toyota did a good job. This may go down as my favorite Camry. The 07-11 was originally my favorite plus the 92-96 versions. I hated Camrys between 97 and 06. Those two generations were ugly to me. The only thing I dont like about this new Camry is the interior. Reminds me too much of a truck interior since the 2010 4runner was the first to use it. I guess it has to grow on me.

2011 Nissan Quest

I don't think this looks like a car sold in North America. It looks strictly Japanese in terms of design. I think its very ugly. I hate the shifter on the dashboard like that. I rather have a column shifter even those suck too. Most people around here in So Cal usually drive Odysseys, Siennas, and Caravans. The only Quest I see common are the 1st gens from the 1990s which were one of my favs.

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8

Again, Chrysler is improving faster than ever. Thanks Fiat for buying a stake. Like with the 300 I talked about, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is awesome. I loved the last gen Grand Cherokee version as well. The interior looks beautiful and that 6.4 Liter Hemi V8 makes my mouth water. Good job Chrysler.

Throwback Car Of The Week: 1994 Honda Accord

When I was a kid, I always wanted one of these. My favorite generation of the Accord. A family friend had a black 1994 Accord sedan I would just stare at in amazement. For 1994, the design looked ultra modern. The interior was in my opinion years ahead of the Camry from the same year. Even though they're showing their age now in 2011, they are still a decent used car especially to save money on gas.

2012 Saab 9-4X

I grew up on Saabs. I remember we had a Saab 900 convertible and hatchback. The convertible was cool but, the hatchback seen better days. The gas gauge and speedo didn't even work! I really hated how GM treated Saab especially in the SUV department. Anybody remember the Saab Trailblazer/Envoy? Oh I mean the Saab 9-7X. GM pretty much tried to Saabadize a mid size truck platform and try to pass it along as a new type of crossover vehicle. Epic Fail! I have yet to see one of the road. With that said, GM has redeemed themselves with the 9-4X. Its based on the Cadillac SRX which is a true crossover. To the average person though, it would be difficult to even know its related to the SRX. Saab did a decent job on this one. I hope it does well. Saab needs it to.
